The NHS Confederation is the independent membership organisation for the full range of bodies that make up the modern NHS. Our members are drawn from every part of the health and care system and join 560+ organisations connected to the NHS Confederation. We represent all organisations that commission and provide NHS services, including major teaching trusts, voluntary and independent sector providers, ambulance services, community service trusts, social enterprises, clinical commissioners and primary care providers.
The NHS Confederation supports the NHS to deliver high quality services and improve the nation’s health and well-being. Our vision is an NHS that provides the best possible care for patients and value for the public, now and in the future.
We work with our members to bring together the views of every part of the healthcare system to provide a strong voice for the whole of the NHS in a way no other organisation can.
- We influence health policy
- We make sense of the health system
- We champion good practice
We work to meet the shared needs of our members and provide a powerful collective voice for NHS leaders – addressing the issues that impact upon the whole of the NHS and shape the overriding framework in which it operates. We do this through forums and networks that focus on the specific needs of the different sections of our membership.
